Offbeat Auburn Podcast — Ardistry Salon Wants to Send Your Hair to the Gulf

Ami at Ardistry gives us the low down on collecting hair to clean up the oil spill in the Gulf. Just click on the button below to listen or check us out on iTunes!

I first heard about it through a posting to Ardistry‘s Facebook wall.

Every piece of hair swept off the floor of Ardistry will be boxed up and sent off to make mats that soak up hair from the oil spill. Just thought you’d like to know :)

Turns out, it’s not just the current ecological disaster in the Gulf. The organization Ami and company are working with, Matter of Trust, has been at this for years and offers a really fascinating video explanation of their work.

I didn't have that much to begin with...

I, personally, already had an appointment scheduled with Kat, but really after watching that how could you resist. Sadly, genetics left me with only a small contribution to make to the cause, but every little bit, eh? If you do it yourself, I imagine you could bag up your clippings and drop them off. If you drive a gas-guzzler, you could have them shave your head completely. Imagine how good that would feel, not to mention the feel of the breeze blowing across your bald pate as you drive!

Ardistry Salon is located in downtown Auburn on Magnolia Avenue across the street from campus and upstairs from Moe’s.
