Offbeat Auburn Podcast — What the Fox!?

A encore presentation of our conversation about improv comedy with Lindsay Acord of What the Fox!? Just click on the button below to listen!

What the Fox!? | Easter ShowIn the early 80′s SCTV came to St. Louis television. My friends and I loved it. What we didn’t know at the time was that John Candy, Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy and company had honed their skills as part of the Canadian Second City troupe in Toronto, not only performing sketch comedy, but improv as well. I didn’t get my first taste of live improv comedy until late in the 80′s when I attended a Brave New Workshop show in the Twin Cities. After that, I was hooked.

More recently, ABC’s import of the UK’s Whose Line Is It Anyway? had an eight year run and helped launch the career of Wayne Brady. You don’t, however, have to settle for television reruns to get an improv fix. Our own What the Fox!? serves up improv comedy to audiences and is always open to anybody who wants to try their own hand at “Yes, And…”.

Easter Sunday What the Fox!? does something they’ve never done before! New games will be played, new shenanigans will be had, and they will have their first ever RAP BATTLE with local freestylers! What the Fox!? is back for one of three shows until they take their summer hiatus. Get your fix while you can at Make Your Move Dance Studio, 116 Columbus Parkway, Sunday, April 4. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Bring a chair, bring a friend, and bring $3 for a ticket. 18 and over, please!

  1. Hey Kelly! Just listened to the podcast. Love it! Well, except for the fact that I clearly say “um,” “like,” and “y’know” too much. Ha. I passed on your info and the link to my belly dancing friend and Cho Cold from the Burn City Rollers. I’ll definitely plug the site on Facebook, too. :-)
