I have learned to listen politely to friends of mine in D.C. and Philadelphia when they tell me tales of the 2010 Snowpocalypse. Mild winters have been one of our favorite things about moving to Alabama and I hate to rub it in. That said, we have been watching local forecasts with an eye toward tomorrow night’s schedule Sundilla concert. Turns out, it wasn’t our own forecast we needed to worry about:

subject: John Flynn POSTPONED…Sorry to be so last-minute about this, but we have had to postpone the John Flynn concert that was scheduled for tomorrow. Yes, it is weather related, but not our weather; John is in Delaware, and the roads are completely shut down because of snow and ice. His agent and I have spent all morning trying to figure out a way to get him here in time, and what we figured out is that there is no way.
The concert will be re-scheduled, as soon as we can find matching openings in our respective schedules. But it won’t be this month, so that means that our next concert will be Friday, February 26, with Miche Fambro. I’ll have Miche’s information on the website Friday; he is an incredible guitarist (left-handed, upside down and backwards, no less) with an awesome voice, and a natural sense about how to entertain; it’s sure to be a great night.
Again, sorry about the John Flynn concert; score one for Mother Nature.
Of course, if you let your eyes wander over to the right, you’ll notice that there’s still a book discussion going on over at The Gnu’s Room and Fine Wine and Beer by Gus is hosting a special pre-Valentine’s Day wine tasting, so there’s still plenty to do.
Provided our own streets aren’t covered in snow.
